Founded in 2013 by Leandro Soares and later joined by its first coordinators Graham Wooding and Lucas Olbinski with the indispensable help of the local aspiring and seasoned comedians alike they set an ambitious goal of turning the traditionally known "Land of Smiles" into the Land of Laughter , making history along the way and taking the lead on the local comedy scene by flying in international professional headliners, organizing weekly open mic shows, monthly showcases, comedy workshops and local comedy competitions to recruit and support new talents on their newly found careers . Since it's foundation Bangkok Hilarious has taken English Stand up comedy to all four corners of the big mango including Phuket, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Bangkok. In 2015 they organized Thailand's 1st Annual International English Stand-up Comedy Competition raising the quality bar for other groups to follow and proving once and for all that comedy is no laughing matter. Khaosan Comedy Club, AKA “The world’s most multicultural comedy club,” features side-splitting comedy shows in the famous backpackers’ paradise of Khaosan Road, located on the ground floor of the Khaosan Park Resort, inside the “Khaosan Park Hotel & Shopping” arcade. At 6pm you can see the improv comedy show, which is appropriate for all ages and fun for the whole family. The later shows (usually 8, 9, or 10 PM depending on the day), feature the best standup comedians around, are best suited to adult audiences.
