A group of islands and islets some 25 miles off the Tanzanian coast, the Zanzibar Archipelago is headlined by Unguja (often referred to simply as Zanzibar) and Pemba. Once a separate nation, Zanzibar has a long history of trade with the Arab world, dating back to at least the 11th century. The capital, Stone Town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has many interesting historic attractions. Zanzibar's bright white beaches and nearby coral reefs make it very popular with the sun and sea set.

A basic stay. Beds lovely made and reception and check in was easy. Breakfast was lovely. Be prepared for electricity outages where it gets pitch black and extremely hot in bungalow. We stay on the front one and it was lovely, plenty of little creatures crawling around and damp smell is the norm in bathroom. Had a 4 star for the same price, which seems crazy. Overall expensive for what you get when you look around the area.

This place is a must. We had curry prawns with rice and sea food platter. Everything was delicious and fresh. We decided to eat here all week after the great experience we had. The place is run by a nice family and they make you feel cosy and welcome.0

About Mango beach house: Enjoy the Indian ocean turquoise views from every corner of our property. You can see the reef from the terrace of Kiddo s cafe enjoying a drink or a meal cooked by our chef with daily fresh fish. Or enjoy lying down on beach beds for the sun birth. Our large, spacious rooms have all sea view and big veranda. They all are very well decorated by local material and beds are king size. Whether you are two or five, we will accommodate you. We can pick you up at the airport, arrange any tour with local vendors, just ask us. Welcome to our peaceful relaxing paradise
This small hotel is located directly on the beach of Jambiani, excellent location but unfortunately the beach is inaccessible due to the tides or at least not suitable for swimming, the rooms are ok nothing special but they are without air conditioning and with the heat and you can't stay wet at all, the bathroom constantly smells damp, there is no hot water and several times we could not take a shower because there was no cold one, we paid for half board and they even charged us for simple bottles of water served at dinner plus wifi didn't work even in the bar. Experience not to be redone.

A romantic comfortable gateway in Paje, Zanzibar with a breath taking panoramic view of Jambiani and Paje. Our 10 rooms are just foot steps away to the beach and all have the beautiful view of the Indian Ocean and surrounded by palms and nature. Tasty breakfasts with the best view. Rooms are guaranteed to be always clean and comfortable. Kite Surfing just steps away, but our reception and rooms are a lot higher than sea level, getting you to see all the kite-surfers and take memorable pictures. The area is perfect for swimming. We go the extra mile to make our guests feel home. We organize excursions, bicycles or motorbike rentals. At our host , you enjoy reading, cooking, travelling and most of all it's our pleasure to go that extra mile to make sure that you as our guest feel comfortable.
In fact, 1-star hotel with no special service and poor facilities, not recommended for families. + Amazing view + Nice hotel territory + Room cleaning and antimosquito splattering on daily basis + Smiley and helpful staff that makes this place much better than it is - Disappointing bathroom - Impossible to swim nearby due to the rocky beach and low tide twice per day. During the high tide it is impossible to step into the water. So you have to walk to the Paje beach or Jambiani (approx 1 km) - Poor menu and very limited choice in the restaurant. No beer, no ice, no bar in general - Long distance to any shop, no infrastructure nearby - Unpleasantly smelling heaps of seaweed close to the restaurant

I stayed 2 weeks as a volunteer in the Eco Camp helping at school and it was an incredible trip. Remmy and Elvin his son are so welcoming, as well the camp crew. Food is great, the accommodation is tidy and clean, the river is calm and you can even see monkeys in the trees. Don't hesitate and take part of this project full of hope and happiness.
