Sitting on the Gulf of Guinea, the port city of Lome serves as the capital of Togo, a sliver of a country in West Africa. Famous for the friendliness of its people and the beauty of its countryside, Lome is the perfect place to relax after exploring Togo's hills and forests. White beaches are lined with hotels, while the interior of the city offers a series of markets for avid shoppers. Visit the Grand Marche for colorful Togo fabrics or the Fetish Market, which sells protections from evil.

Small, but lots of variety and you'll get to watch the artists making things. Nice wood, leather and metal work, along with paintings and other fabrics. Good prices

Il s'agit d'un marché en plein air, tenus par des béninois, on y vend toutes sortes d'objets vaudous et il y a des féticheurs sur place. Très fréquenté des touristes. Prix d'entrée.
A must see. Very interesting to see voodoo practice and also visit a voodoo priest....had my doubts as he was probably a teen. It's the reason I visited and definitely recommend. It's very small but a must see. Note...there are dried dead animals for sale!
