Kaunakakai is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaiʻi, United States. It is the largest town on the island of Molokaʻi. The population was 3,425 at the 2010 census. It has the largest port on the island and the longest pier in Hawaii. The town was made famous in the 1930s by the song "The Cockeyed Mayor of Kaunakakai", beginning an ongoing tradition of designating an honorary mayor for the town.

If you stay at WaveCrest, this church is a very short drive away. So simple, so austere. It reminded me of what it must have been like when it was an outpost for Fr. Damien's work on the island. The inspiration was incredible. It is such a beautiful, quiet, peaceful place for reflection and prayer.

When visiting Molokai you just can’t miss visiting this farm of fragrant flowers. The owner is a gem and he gives a tour of the farm and even teaches you how to pick your flowers and make a lei for yourself. So glad we made this a part of our trip.

We biked to the longest wharf in Hawaii. Most of the deeper water activities originate from here. Beautiful view of the other islands and sunset from the wharf.

I recommend going at high tide for the snorkeling, as the corals are in really shallow water. Nice scenic spot for a dip, or picnic. You can see Lanai and Maui from here
