This pub attracts a wide variety of people and features great music and drinks. This traditional old Irish bar dates back to the early 18th century and has claims to be the city's oldest bar still in existence. There is a lovely traditional mahogany horse shoe shaped bar in the downstairs bar, with a raised seating area, where you can spend many hours having 'the craic' in one of the old booths. Upstairs is a more relaxed affair with traditional old booths and top notch service. The Morning Star is a Belfast favourite, where you'll have some top whiskies, gins, craft beers, cocktails and wines served by Belfast finest bar staff. We also have a great pub menu and have won numerous food awards, we are always looking at using new exciting new ingredients and also run a monthly Beef Club and a Craft Beer & Cheese Night. The Pub always has some sort of live sport on, usually horse racing with a mixture of rugby, golf, boxing or motorsports.
A real traditional pub, that caters for drinkers. Frequented by locals as well as tourists. Serves a good pint in great surroundings with friendly staff and punters to converse with.

Posh pub for the "twenty-something" party lover.
Called into McHughs for a quick tipple & ended up staying for a couple of hours. The Christmas atmosphere was fabulous, with traditional pipe & violinist playing Irish music next to a roaring fire.. The food was delicious & so reasonable.. A good menu choice from Boxty with a choice of toppings to lighter bites.. It’s one not to be missed & we will return in our visit to Belfast..

The Award winning John Hewitt Bar & Restaurant is a traditional pub in the heart of Belfast’s lively Cathedral Quarter. Lunches are served between 12pm and 3pm Monday - Saturday. Live music is played in the bar six nights per week. The bar is completely free from TV’s and gaming machines.
Visited Saturday evening approx.6 pm...great music session with top class musicians- well kept traditional pub - great vibe- good bar service and very clean. Would definitely recommend as being better than other more " famous" belfast pubs we visited.

White’s Tavern is an Irish bar located in Belfast city centre. The first Tavern license in Belfast was granted in 1630 to the building of Whites Tavern, making it Belfasts oldest bar. From the 1600’s through to the 1700’s the entire alley housed many wine and spirit merchants, giving the alleyway the name “Winecellar Entry.” Over time, Whites has evolved and has woven itself into the very fabric of Belfast's hospitality scene. We hope you enjoy your time with us here at Whites. Céad Míle Fáilte.
Lovely little pub. We came across this by accident but well worth seeking out. Very old establishment located in a quiet courtyard. The food was fantastic and not expensive. A good choice of beers and friendly staff. A real fire made an already very friendly, homely pub even better. And hotter.
