This tour far exceeded our expectations! At first we were a little surprised to be told we were going to a saffron farm, as that hadn't been mentioned previously. It actually turned out to be a fascinating experience. We got to try the local saffron, including saffron infused beer, honey along with some of the local cheese and meats. We then went to castello tricerchi for a tour of a vineyard, cellars and the castle itself. The place was stunningly beautiful, and we got to have a wine tasting in the castle itself. After that we went to Martoccia which was another beautiful vineyard just outside montalcino. The cellar tour was fascinating, and it was followed by a 4 course lunch with wine tasting. The food was spectacular, and the wine was incredible. We were lucky enough to be able to try the new 2015 brunello which hadn't even been labelled yet. Our tour guide Nadia was extremely knowledgable and very relaxed. The tour actually finished 2 hours late, but she didn't seem to mind. She even let us store our wine in her office so we could go and explore Montalcino in the evening. Fantastic tour. Would thoroughly recommend
This one day tour experience is aimed at letting you discover the secrets of an area which is famous for its white wines like the Pecorino and the Passerina, but also for its strong and great Rosso Piceno Superiore - by the way, you should also visit this place in 2018 because we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the great red wine! The local english speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel within 80 kms from Ascoli Piceno. In the morning we will firstly stop by in the splendid city of Offida, the city wine capital of this area! After a tour of the city on own, we will stop by at our first local winery. You'll meet the producer and have a tour of the winery, followed by a tasting paired with some local salami and cheese. Then, we'll move on to reach our restaurant for the lunch, before going back to visit another splendid winery with an amazing view of this territory. We'll be back at your hotel by 5 pm, after having visited 3 great wineries on a special wine day tour!
Inclusions: Roundtrip transportation , Professional / friendly host / Driver, Delicious meal with wine, Scenic Drive, VIP Wine Tastings at 3 great piceno wineries
