THE MOST WONDERFUL DAY We went to Lapland UK last weekend and it was absolutely fantastic. You receive text messages telling you exactly when to arrive and from the moment you do so everyone is in character! we were the second to last slot and everyone acted with as much enthusiasm as if it were their first shift of the day. The setting is amazing and they have gone to so much effort with the surroundings and set up. It looked truly magical. The actors in the workshops were superb and the children loved making the gingerbread with Mrs Claus and the toy in the toy factory was excellent. The elf village was brilliant and it really felt as though you could have been in the North Pole itself. There was so much going on behind the scenes that you could see that just added to the atmosphere. The food was amazing. Such a lot of thought has obviously gone into the menus and there was something for everyone to enjoy throughout our time there. It was really yummy too and well priced. The visit to the reindeer and Santa was just brilliant and he knew all about the children so it blew them away when he knew what parts they had just played in their school nativity! The toys were of great quality and the photo you receive was also great. The way they subtly give you the toys at the end was easy and not at all difficult with the children around. As you can tell we had the most super and magical time! We would definitely recommend to anyone to go! Simply amazing...

We went over the late August bank holiday, 2018, with our 8 and 9 year old girls. We're a family who love theme parks (many happy hols to Orlando for example) and who also love Lego. We had a great day, sure some of the rides need a spruce up, but not as many as some of the reviews on here would have you believe. The most important thing? The kids *loved* it. We arrived with pre-booked tickets and pre-booked parking, however on arrival at opening time I realised I hadn't printed them off. The turnstiles will zap the bar code on your phone screen though, so no need to print. I saw plenty of others scanning their phone screen but mine wouldn't (I suspect user error on my part!) so I went over to a member of staff, explained the issue and she zapped my phone for me and in we went. I was really grateful because I thought she was going to send me to queue with the folks that were buying tickets on the gate which would have lost lots of time. We headed straight to the ride we knew the girls wanted most, the ride where you can earn your driving license. They enjoyed it but on exiting the ride my eldest realised she'd left her small backpack in the car she had been in. The backpack contained her medical kit that she needs with her at all times. We alerted the staff and they immediately sent staff out onto the ride to check the cars, we were soon reunited with the bag. For the second time I felt that the staff were there to make your day easy, very like the 'cast members' at Disney. We used the Legoland Windsor app to keep our eye on ride times and through the day we went on everything that we wanted to. At times the ride times were up to 75 minutes for some rides, with the peak of the congestion being at about 1.30pm. We weren't put off these rides, we knew that the lines would reduce later in the day and they did, no problem. The app really was useful though because some rides we would have assumed had a long wait and didn't and we just timed ti right and got on with no wait. We ate at Pirate's Burger Kitchen, we paid about £8.50 for a burger meal deal and abou £6 for a children's meal. The options were mostly burgers (the clue is in the restaurant name!!) but there were salad meal deals available too. One of us has severe and multiple food allergies and I asked for the allergy information, the server was friendly and could immediately hand me an up-to-date menu list of all the meals and their allergens and I felt totally safe ordering a meal. Back out in the park we headed to the mini-land to see the Lego creations and into the Star Wars model display, headed to the gift shop. In the gift shops we had some things engraved in the 'Kids Wear & Funky Fashions' shop, they don't do engraving in the Big Shop. Again, we had great customer service and even got one thing engraved for free because we had a voucher on the Legoland App to use. Next, we got a re-entry stamp on our hands to walk back to the car and put our purchases in the car for later. Once we'd done that the crowds had started to reduce and we could get on rides much quicker. We stayed until closing at 6pm, we were glad we'd already done the gift shop earlier in the day because it was extremely busy at the end of the day. We had a great day, you need to be realistic about what to expect though -some rides are newer than others but the kids loved them and really enjoyed all the theming, especially in the Lego Friends section. On a summer/ bank holiday weekend it will be busy and to get the best of your day you need to try to structure it around the busy times, use the app and accept you may need to get to the popular rides early on or wait until later in the day.
