Abilene boasts a proud military history, having been home once to a U.S. Army base and later a U.S. Air Force base, which remains its primary employer. The city boasts numerous green spaces as well as an impressive zoo representing hundreds of species of animals. Look around and there is always something to do, with two annual rodeos, several outdoor festivals and conferences throughout the year.

Adventure Cove is currently closed for the 2019 season. We will be open again however by Memorial Day weekend of 2020!

Stevenson Splash Pad

This 3,000 square foot splash pad has 22 interactive spray features, 40 foot seat wall, five shaded seating areas, and the Super Wave dumping bucket. Stevenson Splash also has water fountains and restroom facilities. The splash pad recaptures 90% of water, which is treated and recirculated. This project was approved by voters with the May 2015 bond election. Abilene, Texas Splash Pads are open from dawn to dusk every day until mid-October!

Sears Splash is 3,091 square feet and has 18 water features for all ages, according to a release from the city, including two slides and a large dumping bucket. There is also a water journey play area for small children. The location also features shaded benches with picnic tables, a pavilion, a water fountain and nearby restroom facilities. Abilene, Texas Splash Pads are open from dawn to dusk every day until mid-October!

Redbud Splash Pad

The 2,852 square foot splash pad has 18 water features for all ages including two slides and a large dumping bucket that everyone can enjoy! New to the splash pad is a water journey play area for small children. Redbud Splash also has shaded benches, a picnic table, a water fountain and restroom facilities. Open flame barbeque pits are not allowed within 100 feet of the splash pad. The project was approved by voters with the May 2015 bond election. Abilene, Texas Splash Pads are open from dawn to dusk every day until mid-October!
