The courthouse is a fine example of late 19th century architecture and is in excellent shape and is not in the least bit dilapidated or worn out. The rooms within the courthouse are no longer offices but house exhibits pertinent to the area and the Black River and the commerce and jobs it provided. The folks who plan events at the courthouse, which are plentiful, do an excellent job. We attended the ghost walk a couple of weeks before Halloween. I would like to return and visit the courthouse and grounds in the day time.

Site of Arkansas’s first post office, courthouse and land office. Davidsonville faded away close to 15 years after being established in 1815. A park with camping, lake and river fishing, trails, pavilions, playgrounds and picnic areas surrounds Trappers Lake. The visitor center features a replica 1820’s hunter-trapper flatboat, interactive virtual tour of the historic town, and exhibits that explore the history of Davidsonville and life on the Arkansas frontier. The campground has 20 (12 water, 50-amp electric, sewer and 8 water, 50-amp electric) campsites.
This is the best kept secret in Pocahontas. A very nice visitor center with individual hand held info speaker. Groomed walking trails that take you around old town markers and cemetery. Campground with camper and tent sites. Lots of programs offered. Cute gift shop. Well worth a visit.

The Wings of honor museum is located on an old WW2 air corps flight training base that is now the municipal airport. It is a large metal building that is packed with memorabilia and local history. There are many photos and displays of the flight training bases in Arkansas and particularly the one here at Walnut Ridge. It's free to the public but you can make a donation. There is a nice gift shop as well. It's large and roomy and you make your way through a sort of maze to enjoy the exhibits. There is a cockpit of the planes they flew and some jeeps and trucks as large items. Very interesting and well done museum. It's only 2 miles off hwy 67, the Rock and Roll Highway so if you're passing through, it's worth a stop
