Shady Beach

This is a great place if you are local to access the river, swimming, camping, etc.. It is relatively small and as with all places in the area often gets quite crowded. They vigorously enforce their rules but never harrass anyone who is simply enjoying themselves, swimming, camping, drinking, etc.. Actually the only ones I have seen asked to leave were those openly using drugs(marijuana). It is geared towards families and they evidently want to keep it that way.

We loved the cave tour this weekend! Everyone was very friendly and the tour guide was great! He was especially good with my 6 year old who asked about 1,000 questions haha! This was a very fun family outing. We would love to come back in the summer for canoeing on the river and zipline.

Afghan hound club of America national speciality was held here 2017. Conformation was outside and hot for dogs and humans. I think inside would have been better. Obedience, Rally and agility all inside. Great facility. Coursing field also great.Thank you for the great review! We would love to host your Club inside the Purina Event Center next time.

This was our first zip line experience and I was extremely nervous. The staff was awesome and helped me feel safe and confident. My two teenagers smiled all day and didn't argue so that right there is a miracle in itself. I will definitely Zip again.

Riverside Wildlife Center

Reviewed By VeraPizzaMargherita - Lexington, Kentucky

Animals in this zoo live in horrible conditions, small cages, bath tubs, single animals outside their natural environment. This is no entertainment, business like this should not be supported and be shut down. This is not how you want your children to experience wildlife.
