I live in Medellin Colombia but grew up in Rowland Heights, California and have hiked these hills where this community building and park now resides since I was 8 years old. This whole area was my back yard playground for the first 20 years of my life here in Rowland Heights. Am visiting Rowland Heights and my family and friends for the holidays and just this morning took a long walk from my family home to the Pathfinder Community Regional Park. The park itself has tennis and basketball courts, baseball diamonds, kids play areas, walking trails, kids play fountain and fixed exercise equipment. I just noticed today (photos uploaded) during my walk on the park trails of the new park trail signage that was recently installed as part of the regional park trail program. Very good trails in the park and lots of activity with families and sports enthusiasts . Never ever any issues with safety and the park is always very well maintained. A real contribution to the area. I recommend a visit and enjoy the park and trails.

Park with playgrounds, hiking trails for all levels, and horseback riding. You can park inside (paid) or try to find street parking along the neighboring areas. It’s located right across the Puente Hills Mall, so you can easily grab a meal or go shipping before/after being at the park. Public restrooms are available and still open during covid. Masks are required. There are a lot of different trails you can take and there’s workout equipment like pull up bars available. Some of the hikes do get a bit steep, but there are family-friendly options. There’s also a cement path for those looking for a more flat surface. There’s not a lot of shade, so bring a hat and wear sunscreen. There are a lot of picnic tables and I noticed a lot of families/groups using them. There are snakes and mountain lions so be mindful. Overall, this park provides a great way to have access to nature even in the middle of the ‘burbs.
