This place has the most delicious candy, and it is made fresh there. The cream candy and Blue Monday bars are terrific. The cream candy brought back great memories of when my relatives made pulled cream mints at home. It was a tough job, but it was always worth the effort. The lady who works in the candy shop was very friendly and helpful. I was so glad I made the stop between Huntington and Lexington.

We were on our way to hopkinsville and along the way we see this tall structure. It was the monument . Huge, we pulled in and there is info and you can get tickets to the top of the monument. Just lovely. It has an elevator to take you up. Gift shop and museum.

We usually like to self tour museums (even been known to walk out if there are only guided tours) but the man walking around with us was so nice and entertaining it didn't bother us at all. He was giving us a sort of history lesson but he was funny while he was doing it. He was great.
The place isn't large at all (only one room) but they manage to cover the prehistoric period, the early settlements in the area, the civil war, the early 1900s town, WWI, the Mt. Sterling train and depot, and other things in between. The building that houses the museum was built in 1897 and was originally the Fire Department before later becoming the library and then the city court. Definitely worth checking it out.

Tour one of the most haunted small towns in America with real paranormal investigators
This ghost walk is spooky, but one of the great things we got from it was the history of our area! My family and I loved hearing about the tales from our past. We very much recommend the walk and did ours close to Halloween for an added ghostly effect.
We special in Mid-Century, but we offer a wide variety of antiques and home decor. We have a man cave area for the guy who's not that into Dishes and Furniture. We have loads of records, vintage clothing, and other such fun bits and bobs for your trip down memory lane!
