This is one of the cooler access points to the Lake Apopka North Lake trail network. The hardest part of the trail ride is the exit up the hill. It's fun on the way down but a tough way to end your ride up the hill. If you're walking there are stairs and it's a piece of cake. That said, there are other access points (Clay Island Trailhead — 22526 Carolyn Lane, Astatula FL 32703) that put you into the action quicker. You'll see alligators (some REAL monsters), lots of raptors, and the results of man trying to undo the damage of our forefathers (done in the name of the "War Effort" in the 1940's). Overall a good trail, pretty easy, very long or short as you wish.
