I decided to visit the Harold P. Curtis Honey Company because of the reviews on Trip Advisor, and it was a unique experience that did not disappoint. The types of honey they had available to sample were orange blossom, palmetto, wildflower, seagrape, and mangrove. The mangrove honey was my favorite, it had a smoother and less sticky taste. I'm not sure whether mangrove honey is always like this or if it tasted smoother and fresher because I visited during mangrove honey season (July-August). I bought some honey sample straws to take home, including one of dark buckwheat honey, which gave the honey a more savory taste. There are also some teas available for purchase (not made by Harold P. Curtis) and I selected the blood orange tea to take home. The tea was fragrant and fresh but did not taste like blood orange. Overall, I would recommend both the experience of visiting as well as the honey products.

Townsend and Sons exceeded my expectations by a long shot on my September 24, 2015 visit. We spent the entire day with these guys and had a very successful hunt and made some great friends. We prepared for a hunt but this was so much more. From the moment we drove through the gates and were greeted by Shawn, Greg and Daniel (along with a few more great people) we were treated extremely well from the hog & gator hunt to the late night frog giggin' with Kelvin. I will recommend this to anybody and everybody looking for an "out of the box" vacation to meet some good ol' boys and see what the Florida landscape has to offer. Being from ND this was a trip I will never forget. Thanks guys for helping check some things off my bucket list!

Fourth time visiting this past weekend, and there's always something new I find! You could walk around three times and still discover something you didn't before. The environment is so pleasant and welcoming, my sisters and I enjoy going every time.

A large Native American site in the area.
Visited the Cane Grinding Festival, primarily to see some local cloggers. Very interesting booths set up with local history and foods available. Tried some of the freshly ground cane juice and liked it. The various groups of cloggers were terrific and we really enjoyed them. Took a walk all around the park and onto some trails that led to one of the Indian Mounds. Great place to see wildlife. Beautiful old large live oak trees with extensive branches under which we sat to watch the cloggers and musical groups. Great afternoon in Ortona.
