My friend and sister went all the way to boiling hot horrible giradot to go to this water park and it was closed! Turns out it's closed Monday's and Tuesday's for maintainence?! There's no where online it says it's closed so we were very disappointed.

Had a great time at the arcade. A good selection of restaurants in the food court. Nice stores. It happened that I visited it the day they were celebrating their anniversary. They were mariachis and free cake for the visitors. The finished the celebration with nice fireworks.

Some years ago, there was a tourist train going over the bridge (Magdalena river) to Flandes. At least on the weekends, it was a busy place.
On google, you find lots of pictures and articles about the touristic train.
Be warned: it´s history - there´s no more train except the exhibited one.
Today, only the bridge and the rails are left - the train is exhibited in the "Parque de la Locomotora".
We walked over the bridge to Flandes which was run down. We were warned to walk any further because of safety reasons.
A shame to see, how things are going.
There´s a motorized "car-train" called "gusanito" which seems to do tours on the weekends - but we´ve not found any further details about it.
There are not too many things to do/see in Girardot: try to find a good hotel, relax and enjoy the warm climate.
