If you are not a fisherman, but Love to camp, this location is worth checking out. Lots of hiking trails, horse trails, & tent camping, 40 to 50 camper pads, many with electricity, then hidden across Rock Creek is how the settlers lived while the Pony Express traveled through the area, Rock Creek Station is a Must see located east of Fairbury, NE on a blacktop paved road. Log cabins have been preserved where some settlers lived and shows how people 100 years ago survived. Then not to far down the road to the northeast is the Homestead National Monument (about 35 miles on State Hwy. NE #4) for you to have another Spectacular Place to visit, both locations have a Visitors Center for guests. It's a Nebraska State Park and you will need to have a vehicle park permit or pick a permit up at the visitors Center.

Great espresso, coffee based drinks and fruit smoothies. Pastries are created and baked fresh daily in house. Thursday's pecan rolls are gooey, sticky and delicious. The atmosphere is quite relaxed encouraging conversation. Great place to relax and read the morning paper.

I was surprised to see the latest movie on my list of "must-see" flicks showing at the Bonham Theater in downtown Fairbury, Nebraska, the day it was released! This beautiful historic movie theater has been remodeled into two theaters to show two of the latest releases each night. If you are travelling to this small town for work or pleasure, don't worry - you won't miss the lastest movies!

Fairbury has a great bowling alley located in their downtown historic district, just north of the post office. What a fun place to take the family! Nostalgia is everywhere, right down to the ashtrays mounted into the woodwork from a day when smoking was still cool. Even though this bowling alley has been there for many decades, they have electronic scoring, which is awesome! Beer, sandwiches, snacks and ice cream treats are available at the adjoining cafe, which still has the bar stools mounted to the floor. Be sure to call ahead for open bowling times!
