Magruder Corridor

The Frank Church and Selway/Bitterroot Wildernesses are beautiful to travel through on the Magruder Corridor. This years trip was a lot busier and rougher than our last trip about 10 years ago. We were in a oickup as a support vehicle for a couple 4-wheelers. There were a few other pick ups and SUV’s but the majority of traffic were ATtV’s and motorcycles. We hiked to a couple lookouts as Burnt Knob road was too rough for our long pick up and Salmon Mtn is only walking access. Both beautiful scenery and Salmon Mtn Lookout is staffed with friendly people.

We rode ATV's out of Rye Creek Lodge about 30 miles into the Bitterroot Wilderness. It's a pristine forest of several varieties, scrub, deciduous, and dense pine. Truly beautiful vistas, big sky, wilderness and wildlife - just beautiful.
