The Frank Church and Selway/Bitterroot Wildernesses are beautiful to travel through on the Magruder Corridor. This years trip was a lot busier and rougher than our last trip about 10 years ago. We were in a oickup as a support vehicle for a couple 4-wheelers. There were a few other pick ups and SUV’s but the majority of traffic were ATtV’s and motorcycles. We hiked to a couple lookouts as Burnt Knob road was too rough for our long pick up and Salmon Mtn is only walking access. Both beautiful scenery and Salmon Mtn Lookout is staffed with friendly people.

Explore fly fishing Bitterroot River Bitterroot Valley, at Bitterroot Fly Company, your source for quality fly fishing products and professionally guided trips. Established in 1976 on the scenic Bitterroot River we have been offering our knowledge and service for over 40 years. Our outfitter is a third generation Bitterroot Valley resident. Come in; access our knowledge of the unique waters of the Upper Bitterroot, the knowledge that only years and experience have to offer. Our guides put people on fish when others are lamenting the poor conditions. Our fly patterns are set by a longtime local resident then hand tied for us. We know these patterns work in our waters, from the color to the presentation. We have big water and we have small water; the choice is yours we have the answers.

We rode ATV's out of Rye Creek Lodge about 30 miles into the Bitterroot Wilderness. It's a pristine forest of several varieties, scrub, deciduous, and dense pine. Truly beautiful vistas, big sky, wilderness and wildlife - just beautiful.
