Planning a first time trip from Naples Florida to Alaska is overwhelming, until we found Hollis Adventure Rentals! I had lots of questions and Darren was so kind to answer them all. He made suggestions to what we would need for the week on the island and his suggestions were spot on. I was still skeptical about what we were going to find when we got to the island but I was pleasantly surprised when we flew in and Darren and his sweet wife were waiting for us on the dock with the truck. The truck was in great condition, very clean and stocked with the little things that we needed. The rest was the Best Vacation of Our Lives!! It was so Awesome we have reserved another vehicle and a boat with Hollis Adventure Rentals for next year. Thank You Darren!!

Visit remote Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska and go whale watching and sight-seeing on an customized tour! You are likely to see whales, sea otters, seals, sea lions, eagles, sea birds and maybe bears, deer, killer whales, porpoises and more! Stunning scenery abounds! We depart from Craig, on the west side of Prince of Wales Island, and we will customize a tour depending on weather, whale activity, and what guests would most like to see. Sea otters are abundant and will be seen on every trip! We can visit remote beaches to go beach-combing, tide-pooling, or look at local flora. You are guaranteed to see beautiful scenery, wild and remote islands, and experience the real remote Alaska. There are no giant cruise ships or hordes of tourists here. Prince of Wales is still a hidden gem in southeast Alaska, and many who come here leave saying it was one of their most amazing vacations ever. Isn't it time you visited?
Stephanie is an excellent guide and naturalist. She knows all the animals and cool info about them, plus all the plants and how to use them! I would tour again with Emerald Island any chance I get! Great adventures. We had such a fun day...MoreThanks Mindy! I'm so glad you could join us! I love sharing info about local nature and its so fun when my clients are really into nature too. I hope to see you again some day.

This was my first trip to Alaska and my first fishing trip ever. I wasn't sure what to expect and never dreamed it would end up ranking as one of the best vacations of my life! I still can't believe how much fun I had fishing with Rafael. I was a total beginner, but it didn't matter at all. Rafael put my fears to rest in the first few minutes on the boat and instantly made me feel at ease. I couldn't wait to get back out on the water each day I was there. We caught our limits every day and there was definitely no time to be bored! Now I'm one of those people that can't stop talking about all the fish they caught in Alaska and showing everyone pictures! I can't wait to do it again!

The Craig Public Library offers FREE Wi-Fi, public access computers, a free book exchange, temporary library cards, information, and a variety of programs for visitors to Prince of Wales Island as well as year-round residents.
I use this library often when working at silber bay seafoods as a processor during the summer months of salmon season. Nice fast internet.

As you drive out of Craig, keep an eye out for the unmarked parking lot on Highway 924. The start of the trail is new, wide and well maintained with strenuous switchbacks. Then there’s a set of new stairs to really get your heart pumping! The quick ascent allows for peek-a-boo views of Craig and the surrounding area.
This trail is under construction and signs were posted not to proceed past a certain point due to unsafe bridges. We did venture past these signs, not far though as the path became unclear and it was raining and we thought it best to turn back. We did talk to a local on the way down and she said it’s fine going right to the top if you’re careful. The views would be spectacular on a clear day.
