City Beach

Its a fantastic beach for dog walkers, along most of it and for surfers with fabulous waves, although it can "dump" sometimes. It has lovely soft white sand and strong waves. There are plenty of open-air cafes and upscale, glass-fronted seafood restaurants overlooking the Indian Ocean from a striking modern complex centred on the landmark, ship-shaped City of Perth Surf Life Saving Club, all with lovely menus at really reasonable prices. Sunset always sees plenty of sunset-watchers. There is plenty of free parking all along the stretch of this lovely beach - one of our favourites - especially with views out to Rottnest Island.

The place to relax. Floreat Beach offers miles of sand and sea to enjoy with active life guards on duty at the weekends. The Kiosk offers a great selection of light meals and refreshments. Just the place to relax and enjoy. Interesting birds fly by - so great for ornithologists also.

Bold Park

Bold Park was declared an A-class reserve on 10 August 1998 for its high conservation, landscape and recreation values and vested with the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority for management. It is one of the largest remaining bushland remnants in the urban area of the Swan Coastal Plain, covering 437 hectares near the coast. The vision for Bold Park is 'to be identified as a world-class urban wilderness enjoyed, studied and managed with the community'.

So many trails to explore and plenty of space on the trails so not crowded. Dogs on leash only but that’s ok - my dogs love it. Great city and ocean views and loads of black cockatoos.
