Borges Ranch

The hills are a most incredible shade of green in the spring. In addition to the historic ranch complex, there are several trails for hiking, biking or horseback riding. The trails are well marked and well maintained, mostly gentle rolling hills not steep inclines. You may run into some livestock along the way and definitely bring binoculars for the birds. There is some quail habitat that is being restored. On a spring day, there is nothing better than getting out and enjoying the fresh air and flowering trees and poppies.

This is a really nice little park where there are areas where you can take a picnic, bring your dog and have a nice peaceful walk. It also has a pathway to the Iron Horse Trail. There are many restaurants in Downtown Walnut Creek where you can get takeout and bring it to the park and enjoy - all in walking distance.
