Wow! What a beautiful architecture of this courthouse. Not only is the courthouse beautiful but the plaza adjacent to the courthouse and the restored businesses around the plaza make this a must see when in Sulphur Springs. Don't miss the glass restrooms on the plaza...quite an experience.

The whole park was nicely kept, with the tasteful and extremely respectful war memorials at one end and large chess / checker boards on the other side with the magnificent glass restrooms. Be sure to walk around and read the plaques and benches and look at the sculptures. Everything is purposeful to remind us of the men and women who serve in the military.

This was our first time at Cooper Lake State Park. We were 13 in total, 6 adults, 7 kids (ages 9 down to 1). The park has a very large lake with plenty of boating and fishing opportunities. There is a very good playground for the kids. Hiking is somewhat limited, but there are several good hikes. Camping options include conventional tent or RV camping, screened shelters, and a couple of sizes of cabins. We had two screened shelters and the temperature dropped below 30. The shelters have electricity so we had space heaters going and good sleeping bags. Cold yes, but everyone enjoyed it. Each camp site has water, a firepit, and a pole to hang a lantern. The showers and restrooms were a short walk even for our sites which were farthest away. With all the camp sites this park has it is obviously a popular place. Definitely a great family camping adventure.

This is such an unusual experience and definitely worth the 2-3 mile drive off the interstate. The are 2 bathroom “boxes” which set on the court square. The walls are made of 2 way mirrors. From the outside you see mirrors all the way around and from the inside you can see everything outside around you. Does feel a bit awkward but pretty cool. What makes them even better is that they set on a lovely court square which has been made into a Veteran’s Memorial Park. It has great statues and the grounds are kept very nicely. Also, the courthouse is gorgeous and historical. And, across the street are 2 corner cafes with outdoor seating. Just a charming small town. We hope to have another opportunity to stop here again someday.
