Museum TwentseWelle was built in the Roombeek district, in the remains of the Rozendaal complex, a former textile factory. TwentseWelle is a real family museum. By playing, learning, thinking, experimenting and dreaming, you discover the future. In a permanent exhibition in a huge hall, the visitor is led by the Twente as it looked during the last ice age to contemporary (and future). Exchange exhibitions in the fields of science, healthcare, industry and landscape, a media center and an observatory are part of TwentseWelle. The TwentseWelle museum was opened in April 2008 by Queen Beatrix . In 2009 the museum received the Rob de Bes Award. This prize is awarded annually by the national tourist office to the most innovative tourist attraction in the Netherlands. WiFi is free but you have to ask for the password.
