We offer private sailing and motor boat trips around the beautiful Torridge Taw estuary - a UNESCO biosphere and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in a traditional locally built lug sail boat (2 to 4 hours, up to 4 adults or 2 adults 3 young children / 3 adults 2 young children). Or sail out to sea in an ocean going yacht (4 or 9 hours up to 5 people, no children) including trips to Clovelly or Lundy depending on the weather. Longer trips with overnight stops are also available. You have the whole boat for your party with skipper and we make each trip a unique experience. Join in with sailing and crewing the boat. We can suit all levels of age and experience including novices. Any training you might like is included within the cost. Safety equipment and life jackets are supplied. Both the boats and the skipper are fully licenced.

Due to Covid-19 the management committee has decided that the North Devon Maritime Museum will not open until at least Easter 2021. In the meantime the volunteers are busy improving and updating the displays We look forward to seeing you then!
Brilliant museum, lots of interesting bits, people were very friendly and welcoming! Would recommend anyone visiting the area to have a look around!

Toll road a bit pricey during the summer at £4.50 but you can park there for the day. Lovely walks across the burrows and can be very scenic on a clear day.

We had a lovely lunch here last week. Great service and lovely food. My fish special was really tasty. Great views too!

Quaint old fashioned music pub in the heart of the North Devon village of Appledore. Quirky, soulful, BYO food. Good beer, wines and spirits - other beverages are available.
Loved this pub, great atmosphere and always a friendly welcome. It was our local while down for the week. We were lucky enough to visit when Denise was doing meals and we weren’t disappointed. She’s an absolute gem, she made us feel so at home along with the other lad (I’m so sorry we didn’t get his name). I really hope we get a chances to visit again sometime.
