Hinton Rafting & Adventures (HRA) is a family fun oriented business. HRA offers guided family float tours. Tours run 3 times daily (3 hours in duration), 7 days a week between mid-May and mid-September. Our guests will enjoy a scenic and exciting tour down the historic Athabasca River. We provide all instruction and safety gear, including transportation to and from the river. We can accommodate up to 24 people per tour. Please call for more info and to reserve your adventure today!

Easy walk, pretty. Nature is gorgeous & I believe large parts of the path is wheelchair accessible. Nice stroll

Switzer Park is a year round adventure playground that really flies under the radar. Best known for Jarvis lake and it’s campgrounds under official Provincial Government operation, it might be even better known by locals for the outdoor recreation opportunities offered by volunteer groups. Winter provides a truly world class cross country ski area at the Nordic Centre which catches and retains snow more effectively than other centres in the Province. Really challenging terrain with easy options for beginners offer sometimes for everyone (classic and skate). There is also a fun little toboggan hill. Please support the volunteer operations with donations/memberships, positive feedback or by writing letters of support to the Province. Summer hosts access to incredible mountain bike trails. Pedal into Joachim Valley and the new cabin for the easiest family adventure (still remain bear aware and prepared for mud and adverse weather conditions). The more advanced blue/black diamond bike trails reside in/out of the Park, namely the Froehler Coaster system. Check the trails out on the trailforks app. Otherwise, explore the wildflowers and strawberries along the Nordic trails, paddle Jarvis creek, hike the Athabasca Tower lookout trail and try some non-service camping at Graveyard Lake. Our museum offers a fascinating glimpse into our region’s natural world and the pioneer life.The Travel Centre provides plenty of information for the curious traveler, has knowledgeable staff, an internet kiosk, free Wi-Fi, a coffee bar and a gift shop featuring local art and crafts. Although there is a fee to enter the museum, the travel centre and other amenities are free to all.
