We had a great day in Barbados, thanks to Tervette Tours! We were on a cruise, and I booked the Heritage Railway Excursion at St. Nicholas Abbey online; they recommended Tervette Tours, which has 5 stars, and I arranged a private tour with them via email. Yvette picked us up at the cruise port in a lovely van, took us to the train excursion, and after the tour, for a delish lunch at the Flower Cave Restaurant, before driving us back to the ship. A great day, and HIGHLY recommended!

Our hours of operation are 10.00 a.m.; with our last tour at 3.30 p.m. We recommend allowing 2-3 hours for your visit, with a minimum of an hour to tour the property. (All guests must depart the property by 4.30 p.m.) Visitors can enjoy lunch, tea and other light refreshments at the Terrace Café during our opening hours. The steam operated syrup factory c.1890, grinds sugar cane from January to May. Adults (13 and over): BBD $30* (US $15) Youth (Ages 5-12): BBD $10* (US $5) We also have a steam railway onsite
You simply must visit St Nicholas Abbey when you visit Barbados. Built in the Jacobean style during the 1600s, with most of the furniture still intact, the guided tour is expertly and professionally conducted as you step back in theme on a sugar cane and rum distillery plantation. You will not regret the short taxi drive and you will rave forever about the view from Chrysler Tree Hill. Allan and Bonnie Asselin Ontario, Canada

See the wildlife of the tropics: hares, otters and lots of monkeys.
We arranged private tour through Sandals. It was a taxi and driver .. this was on the list of places we wanted to visit. We came to see the green monkeys. There are lots of tortoises walking about .. you have to watch were you walk of you will trip over them. At 2pm they bring out a wheel barrel full of fruit and spread it out for all the animals so be there before 1:30 and try not to go when there is a cruise ship. The monkeys are "wild" and free .. they know to come over the fence to get fed. The green monkeys are small and were not aggressive. they are obviously used to being around people .. they were very close to the people. But they are wild animals .. so obviously just don't touch them. I felt very safe. there were other animals .. some sort of deer, something that looked like a huge short eared rabbit, peacocks. wear bug spray!
