Cuevas del Drach

World famous, are visited since 1898; inside is lake Martel, considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world, where live classical music concerts are performed every day. You can cross the lake on a boat at the end of the concert. BEWARE, there are two caves to visit in Porto Cristo, the largest and more frequently visited are the Caves of Drach. We advise to get tickets online from our web page, cheaper than at the ticket office and you don´t need to print it. Check carefully that you are at the real Cuevas del Drach, not at another caves nearby with confusing road panels, simulating to be Cuevas del Drach. On high season we advise strongly to book online from Cuevas del Drach official web site, with an small discount and ensuring your entry time.

Another culmination you shouldn’t miss when visiting the Islands of Mallorca: Situated on the Eastern coast, at the entrance of Porto Cristo, nobody expects the unique phenomenon and the magnificent charm on its own! By land or by sea (we made it by bus in the middle of the best month May! this year) easily gained the Caves of Drach, one penetrates down to unbelievable depths where nature and water did work and sculpt during millions and millions of years stalactites and stalagmites of breathtaking forms and outstanding beauty in light knitting. In jewellery-like forms and in an orgy of colours in an interlaced design to perfection, running along many galleries and pathways, astonishing the manifold reflections and gleams around, you attain the underground lake of Martel and experience the apogee with the classical concert life on board a boot. By this, on the waves of the deeply impressing classical music and the tenderly rocking boot one exalts from the depth to the heaven and will never forget this moments in a dreamed world.

Cuevas dels Hams

The Hams Caves are 10 million years old, but mankind has only been able to enjoy their beauty since they were discovered in 1905 by the speleologist Pedro Caldentey Santandreu (1886-1950) while he was digging for onyx, a precious stone abundant in the region. In 1910 he produced electricity to illuminate the cave before electric lighting had reached the village of Porto Cristo. Using a water mill, a dynamo and a water tank, he generated 16 hours of electric current to enable visits to the caves. Come and discover the rest of the history of the Hams caves
