The area of City Brewery Radboud has been a brewery for a long time. The exact location of the current brewery was the place beer has been produced since 1591. We went with the family and friends with young children up to 6 y.o. Everyone enjoyed the visit. The volunteers were more than helpful and informative and the activities as well as demonstration were on point. I got new insight for the steam era and the youngsters enjoyed the kids quest and even got a diploma at the end! I would certainly even visit again. Highly recommended.

De Oude Bakkerij

The 'tastiest' museum in the Netherlands! In the museum you will see attributes and machines, which the baker used in his daily work. Most of these objects are still in use, but usually in a modernised form. The demonstrators use the old machines and other tools, as much as possible. Demonstrations take place at regular intervals at different places through the museum. Next to the demonstrations in the bakery, there are sugar-, marzipan- and chocolate demonstrations. Every day there are extra activities for children. In the shop, they can tell you more about the activities.

We visited this museum based on the reviews online and though bit sceptical at first, we were very pleasantly surprised. There is a bakery where two bakers make fresh cookies and biscuits and the children are allowed to participate. There is also a chocolatier where kids can make their own chocolate candies. There is a photo corner where kids can pretend to be bakers. A lot of old memorabilia and video room. Finished off with a little store where you can buy the cookies and sweets that you've been smelling the whole time. If you're near and have preteen kids, this is definitely worth it.
