We are proud to present the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, built by Johnny Morris, to share the rich history of the Ozarks and the animals and people who came before us. Featured items in the museum include a woolly mammoth, a saber toothed cat, giant ground sloth skeletons and prehistoric cave bears. Through artifacts, images, text and video you’ll learn about the Ozarks and the people and animals that lived here over 12,000 years ago up through the Civil War era. Nowhere else can outdoor enthusiasts, families and history buffs experience, in chronological order, the history of the Ozarks documented so thoroughly.
My wife and I visited this museum yesterday and were amazed at the collection. BC relics along with items from the past 2000 years. Johnny Morris has amassed an incredible collection of ancient Indian artifacts of incredible quality and preservation. Would highly recommend this museum and makes the visit to Big Cedar Lodge spectacular.

Spoil yourself at the world-class spa 18,000 square foot Cedar Creek Spa at Big Cedar. Cedar Creek spa is complete with hand-hewn timber ceilings, natural stone floors, handcrafted stained-glass accents, and antique-style chandeliers. A grand, double staircase leads to one of our eleven luxuriously appointed treatment rooms, with each room featuring its own cozy fireplace. A roaring fireplace also serves as the dramatic backdrop for the saunas, hot spas and steam rooms leading out to private open-air showers.
Everything about this spa was wonderful. They treat you very special. We arrived early so we could enjoy the hot tub in the women’s area. There is also a steam room and sauna in the women’s area. We also enjoyed the grotto which is coed. There is an ice room there which I tried for a few minutes. I had a Swedish massage which was great. Also had an aromatherapy wrap with a foot massage. The foot massage was wonderful after walking 6 1/2 miles the day before at Dogwood Canyon. The aromatherapy wrap was just right. Not to hot. Just warm. Expensive but not something I would do frequently.

Experience an unforgettable two-and-a-half mile ride in an electric cart along the Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Nature Trail. Waterfalls, natural rock formations and covered Amish bridges dot the trek. From the welcome center, with the beauty of the trail as a guide, guests are steeped in adventure and history all the way to the breathtaking summit. The first place you'll stop as you meander along the nature trail is the awe-inspiring Top of the Rock Lost Canyon Cave. The centerpiece of the four-story cave are cascading waterfalls coupled with a cave bar serving up favorite beverages such as John L's Lemonade.
