Among the rooms of the Palazzo that may be visited are the ornate period bedroom known as Alcova used by members of the Austrian Imperial family, including the Tuscan Grand Duke, Leopold II. Also, the frescoed Sala Impero, with its gilt and mirrors, the Studiolo that houses some of the family's antique books, the Salotto Verde with its view of the roof garden and, then the Studio in which are found mementos of the inventor George Westinghouse, great grandfather of the present owner.

This museum houses one of Italy's best collections of Etruscan artifacts.
We went to Volterra thanks to the wise advice of our lovely hostess at Torraccia di Chiusi near San Gemignano. It's a magnificent old town, with breathtaking views, and this museum is one of its highlights: a splendid, impressive collection of artifacts from the Etruscan period - the best and largest of its kind in Italy. Go there!
