Rusty Wallace Racing Experience

A couple of things to be aware of. 1) Cars break down and you may have a wait. our 11AM class didn't drive until 1PM need patience. 2) If you are a large person over say 6'-1" or have a large belly, forget it. You will NOT be able to squeeze in the window to get in the car. They are helpful and try to give you what info they can in a short time. It was a great time and if you like to go fast and challenge yourself, you will have a blast.

Phoenix International Raceway

Since 1964, Phoenix International Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest. Founded as an open-wheel racing mecca, PIR was proud to host the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix Verizon IndyCar Series race under the lights in April. Phoenix is the only track in the West to feature two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends a year, beginning with the Good Sam 500 race weekend in March. The schedule is anchored by the upcoming Can-Am 500 race weekend in November, the semifinal race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup after which the field will be reduced to the final four championship contenders.

Went saw a NASCAR race on March 08,2020; and WOW, what great race & place to it; it was our 1st time to see a NASCAR race. The smell of fuel being burnt, smell of rubber & noise, yep it was absolutely awesome!!! Make sure to bring along ear plugs or ear muffs, cause its LOUD!!! We went with friends & they had reserved headsets & radios (good thing, I just totally forgot about being along ear plugs) too listen in on the commentators & drivers during a race. We were blessed in the UpGrade to video monitors instead of the radios; this way you see what you'd had missed during the race and see the replay on the video monitors. I advise anyone going to a NASCAR race to spend the extra money and get the headsets & specially the video monitors. We were told by friends that the ISM Raceway had been just recently renovated; not sure what the place looked like before, but whatever they did for improvements they definitely did a good job. As for as venues; each stand exit had venues near by. I can't speak for the food, but for the beer, it was Sold in King Cans, the domestic beers were $12, didn't think this was all that bad. Anyway the experience was AWESOME & the beer was great!!!
