When you are standing in the middle of this piazza, you can choose to go down any one of the seven radiating streets at the end of which you will be rewarded with the most beautiful views over the Umbrian countryside. We chose to go down the Via Ringhiera Umbra and had a lunch of porchetta in a panini in the Largo Sesto Properzio passing through the Porta Della Rocca. The views over Umbria were breathtaking. Sitting there in the silence, you can hear the wonderful bird song, which is ubiquitous in Umbria. A black and white cat came and lay in the sun watching us all the while hoping to share our lunch, but it only got some of our scraps. The piazza itself has some great coffee shops one of which had some very colourful enameled table tops. One was decorated for the Giro d'Italia 2017. A must-visit attraction!
