At the high point of Goult the windmill is a great place to head for when walking through the village. This old style windmill was interesting to non-French like ourselves and there are also great views over the surrounding area from here.

Gordes is officially registered among the loveliest villages in France and this is fully deserved. The village is located upside a stiff rock dominating the valley. It’s worthwhile to get lost in the narrow streets and to enjoy the nice view all over the surroundings. Conversely it’s a good idea to stop at the view point one mile before the arrival to get a stunning view on the whole village. Of course Gordes is crowded in summer and you may have to park at a distance (no free parking slots).
