I took a cross country ski lesson on Monday a couple weeks back and returned Tuesday for for some snow shoeing. Joy helped me purchase the ticket for the grounds as well as my lesson. She was also my instructor. She suggested purchasing a two day ticket rather than two one day tickets in order to save a few dollars as there is a discount for multi-day tickets if purchased at the same time. Great tip! The price of your ticket is very reasonable - only $25 for the day and I think $15 for additional days. Downhill skiing right across the street at Mount Snow is almost $100 more! During the cross country ski lesson, Joy was very patient. This was my first time out and was used to down hill skiing and found this very different. She provided me with a wonderful lesson and enjoyed it very much. My two days out on the grounds were quiet however they were grooming and kept an eye out on people on the property to make sure everyone was safe.

Hidden deep among Vermont's mystical Green Mountains is a secret world of challenging adventures, fantastic stories, and real cash fortunes hiding in plain sight. Only those who attempt the Challenge will know where to look. Along your epic real-life action adventure journey, you will explore ancient Vermont towns, hike magical mountains, and encounter a series of mind-bending puzzles - all in a quest to unravel the story and discover the unknown This is a real challenge: there is no guarantee you will solve it. The Adventure changes each summer and typically takes 2-3 days. You can begin any day and take as long as you need during Adventure season (Memorial Day - Labor Day) to complete it.
We’ve completed the GMAC the last 7 years with another couple, and have enjoyed the Vermont nature, challenging clues, time with friends, and of course dinner/drinks at the 1846 tavern. 2020 was no exception! With minor adjustments for Covid19 (face masks when inside or around other people, activities more local to the town of Dover, and lots of hand sanitizer!), this years adventure was another fun weekend with the right balance of adventure and time relaxing. For those that have never tried the challenge, I highly recommend going with another couple, or overall team of 4, and attending on the weekend when other teams are around town too. For repeat adventurers, this years hikes were not as strenuous as some previous years, assuming you don’t misread any clues and do some extra hikes...

We were looking for an affordable, overnight get away for two and found it at Mount Snow. We stayed at the Snow Lake Lodge overnight with two adult ski tickets mid-week and spent less than $200. That's fantastic. The Lodge is no frills, and the website is clear about that, but it was clean, comfortable and fully functional. Just a few minutes away from the lift with transportation on the half-hour. Melissa in Guest Services attended to a ticketing issue (that was my fault) and rectified the problem perfectly!
