Yogyakarta boasts stunning architecture and a truly spiritual sensibility. The ancient Hindu temples of Prambanan look like hand-drizzled sand castles, while the Sultan's palace is reminiscent of a gilded music box filled with jewels. Known for its arts and handicrafts, Yogyakarta is a cultural hub, a nerve center for traditional and modern puppetry.

Kotagede is a smaller town just next to Yogyakarta and you can go there in about 30 minutes by car or bus. This town is very unique as most of people are Moslem, but Chinese used to live in this town as you can see there are many beautiful and historic Chinese traditional homes blends with the Javanese traditional homes. There are many shops selling silver, but if you can walk behind the main street there are homes which produce those beautiful silver displayed at the shops in the main street.
