A very attractive small market town with plenty of independent shops and small cafes. A beautiful High Street with a lovely tree lined avenue and greens, and an abundance of historic buildings to gaze at including a fabulous 11th century church. Grab a ride on one of the steam trains from Tenterden Town Station and take in the lovely views of the unspoilt surrounding countryside as the train trundles down the track. The title "Tenterden, the Jewel of the Weald" is richly deserved. Free car parking in Bridewell Lane car park every Sunday and on Bank Holidays
Beautiful little town with nice shops, restaurants, easy parking and a fantastic steam railway. Highly recommended

If you do the little walking tour set out in the Visitor's guide to Deal you will see and discover the fascinating history of this town. Really worthwhile

Not everything is open but possibly more places open at the weekend? Very clean, gentrification with vegan cafes, galleries and retro/ vintage clothes. Antiques and bric a brac too. Superb old school jeweller near the square and Margate museum.

On a dull and very windy day we sheltered in the narrow streets and browsed in the wide variety of eclectic shops-well, the ones that were open- and warmed up in a coffee house or two. An hour or so went by in a flash.
