I have been twice this year and may go again before the years out. Toilets clean river and lake are great and it's just a nice peaceful getaway.

Yarwell Station And Nature Reserve

Reviewed By shanes236 - Northamptonshire, United Kingdom

I have seen the signs for this little station on many occasions previously but struggled to park on Elton road. I had both of my daughters with me on this occasion and we found the station using the Nene way footpath. We parked in Yarwell country park and followed the path until we saw a fairly faded sign for the station. We located a well concealed gateway and eventually found the little station and reserve. There are fishing lakes located nearby and plenty of wildlife dotted around too. As for this little station, it is the last on the line and has had investment in recent years and looks very well cared for too. Obviously there were no trains running on the day we visited but check for future travel as this looks like a lovely little novelty train trip. I have often said it is such a pity that most of out train tracks were pulled up or abandoned in the 1960s so it is always refreshing to see some left and still running. There is a quite uneven footpath running alongside a part of the track with seating for viewing. A lovely part of our county and beauty in abundance. Visited 14th may 2020.
