Uherské Hradiště (Czech pronunciation: [ˈuɦɛrskɛː ˈɦraɟɪʃcɛ]; German: Ungarisch Hradisch, Hungarian: Magyarhradis) is a town in the Moravia, (Zlín Region) of the Czech Republic, located 23 km (14 mi) southwest of Zlín on the Morava River. It is the capital of the Uherské Hradiště District. The town itself has a population of 25,454 (2011 census). The agglomeration with the two neighbouring towns of Staré Město and Kunovice has over 38,000 people.

Open-air museum Rochus

The Scansen Uherske Hradiste It takes only a minute to walk from the center of Uherske Hradiste to a place wherer many surprises await one , this is the district known as Marartice , although a suburb of Uherske Hradiste it emanates the atmosphere of a Moravia village from the late 19th early 20th century. Behind the village rises the Rochus Hill now part Public Park part “Scansen” or open air folk museum dedicated to the acquisition and preservation of the areas architectural and cultural heritage. Within the Scansen on ther summit of the hill may be found the Chapel of St Roch,next to it an original wooden barn from the village of Brestek together with a homestead from the village Borsice and another from Veletiny ,yet another is complete with a wine cellar.
