Kristianstad (Swedish pronunciation: [krɪˈɧanːsta], older spelling Christianstad) is a city and the seat of Kristianstad Municipality, Skåne County, Sweden with 40,145 inhabitants in 2016. During the last 15 years, it has gone from a garrison town to a developed commercial city, today attracting visitors in the summertime mainly from Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands.

aRt Town is an Arts Collective unlike anything else in Northern Europe. If Andy Warhol was in Sweden he would be hanging out here having a fine cup of coffee. We have a large 4 story building dubbed the “aRt Castle” that was once the old military barracks. Here you can see over 60 artists’ work on display and for sale. Welcome.

At the old station Kristianstad Southern the Railway Museum is located. In the museum's yard, you can see the station buildings, locomotives, wagons and railroad artifacts from a bygone era. The rail yard is open year round, but the museum is only open during the summer. The museum's exhibition space is something for everyone, families with children as well as train buffs.

Welcome to the Film Museum and feel the atmosphere of the film's childhood! It was here, in the attic studio on Östra Storgatan in Kristianstad, it all began. In 1905, industrialist Nylander and bookkeepers Björkman formed Handelsbolaget Kristianstads Biograf-Teater. A few years later the company was converted into AB Svenska Biografteatern. One employee was aspiring film legend Charles Magnusson, who later went on to Hollywood.
