Snow-capped Himalayan peaks and green pastures surround Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Enjoy a heritage walk through Shimla’s Victorian-era architecture, labyrinthine bazaars and lengthy pedestrian shopping mall. Don’t cause too much trouble taking in the town from Scandal Point, a large, open square; keep in mind that Shimla was a retreat destination for Mahatma Gandhi, who frequented a Georgian mansion in Shimla’s suburbs from the mid-1930s to '40s.

A beautiful place to hike near Shimla, its a easy trek and families can also go here. Do carry lots of water with you as there is no source of water en-route. On a clear day you can see the mountains all around and its a good place for photography.

The climb can be quite high in certain places - especially with the steps. There is a more scenic route as well - with less height but takes longer - is a much nicer walk. The temple is filled with monkeys so be careful of your belongings

This is an ideal place having ropeway, snow sliding, Photography, shooting range, etc. all in one place. Gives a breathtaking taking view of mountain slopes. Approach to place is through Pony ride and as we went in winters the place was filled with slush and mud. Had to wear Gum boots. Lot of shops en-rooute selling tit bit touristy things. Good place to play with snow too. Start early to reach on time and avoid crowd rush. You can visit Himalayan Nature park either of the way. At the top there are god eateries and be comfortable.
