Mostly jutting northward from its largest city of Amsterdam and its capital of Haarlem, the Noord-Holland region has much more to offer beyond those two wonderful cities. At Muiden is the magnificent Muiderslot Castle, as if it stepped out of a fairy tale. Showing more wear but no less interesting is Brederode Castle at Santpoort. At Zaanstad is Zaanse Schans, one of Holland’s top tourist destinations and a family-friendly open air museum of windmills, traditional buildings, crafts and shops.

Spent the night in here on Sat 10 Nov and had such a giggle! Great atmosphere with everyone singing and supporting whoever was on the mike. Reasonably priced drinks! Met some lovely people from Scotland, Sweden and the guy from Cuba - you have the voice of an angel. The evening flew past. Warning though make a reservation if you want a guaranteed slot at the weekend. And just wish the bar was twice as big! Oh and a pretty good selection of songs, only a few of our selections were not available - get some Muse on the system guys!!!! A great night was had by all.

Decided that even though there were bad reviews we'd give it a go. If we didn't like it, we'd leave. We loved it. 5 ladies aged from 36-52, and we sung ourselves hoarse! They have a great selection of songs. We don't know if the microphones worked or not, but it didn't matter, because there were screens all over the place with the words on and everyone sang everything. Loudly. The prices of the drinks were no different to anywhere we'd been previously. Shorts were about 9 euros, pints 6-7. Bar staff were busy but polite - I couldn't count the change in my purse so held a handful out, and the lad behind the bar took what he needed and showed me so that I knew he wasn't taking more than required. Like I say, we loved it. A lot.
