We spent one week at the hotel with demi-pension (breakfast and dinner included). Superb service at the hotel and restaurant. Prices were reasonable. Food was local and very tasty. And the artisanal ice cream was to die for. Chapeau a Karine et Marc - merci !

At the center of Corsica, in the heart of the forest Vizzavona. U Castellu is a charming hotel opened in July 2010 offering comfortable rooms in a charming and an exceptional site!
In the Corsican summer, it was amazing to get to this hotel in the middle of a pine tree forest. Its yellow neon signs are straight out of a spooky film. It's like being in Austria or northern US states more than in a Mediterranean island. It was very windy and our room had two big windows, from which we could hear and watch the pines stir. The room was great, elegant, classic and the bathroom more modern and very good too. I adored reading my book on a small terrace outside, in the forrest, with a jacket and a Cap Corse. The food was good and the little living room in which people drink l'apéro is charming as hell. I can't wait to go back.

First....let me say that the owners Pierre and his wife Marie Francios are absolutely fabulous hosts and sweet people that know how to take care of their guests. They will not disappoint you. This hotel was built around the turn of the century and is well kept in it's beautiful, natural state. The rooms are good size, beds and bathroom are nice and if you are lucky you can get a second or third story room with a spectacular view of 9000ft mountain peak with waterfall's cascading vertically out of the crevices. One other very important fact about this hotel is they have a washer and dryer for guests to use for an extra 10 euros. This is very important and very under-recognized if you are like me and like clean clothes to wear!! Did I mention.....they also have a great restaurant and bar too! I had wild boar stew with pasta and an apple tart cake for dessert that was amazing for 18 euros!
