Wonderful Stay, Best one yet!!!
Reviewed By CrazyCleopatraHotel was easy to get to. Staff was amazing, I was checked in by Ann she had a great personality, very friendly and attentive. Room was amazing, you walked in and could just see and smell the clean. Bed was soft and best sleep I had out of all other 5 or more stays I have had in the area looking for the best hotel. In the morning I spoke with Ann again and asked to speak with the housekeeper that cleaned my room the day before, (having been in housekeeping myself and a executive housekeeper) I know they don't get enough credit when they do a great job only when they do a bad job! I got to meet the housekeeper Georgia, (or Georgie) and her trainee Dayshawn and tipped them both and thanked them for doing such a wonderful job. I also spoke with her executive housekeeper and Alex who was there that morning. They were busy for graduation weekend, They had a hot breakfast eggs, potato's, sausage, waffles, and other misc items. I wish I had taken pics but did not think about it at the time. Check out was easy. Sorry this was so long But I wanted To thank the Staff and Hotel on such a GREAT JOB. Thank you!!!!!

Suffocating putrid smell and rude staff
Reviewed By Jim RThis recent stay was by far the worst I have experienced for the below reasons. We were in town for a local university graduation and have stayed at this hotel in the past - and enjoyed it. Assigned room on the 4th floor, and upon entering noticed a faint putrid smell coming from either the garbage disposal or dishwasher. Throughout the day and evening, smell increased, to the point we ran the dishwasher before going to bed in order to try to remove it. Did for a little while, but we were awoken at 1am with this suffocating, putrid smell even worse. Went down to front desk to request a room change, however due to local graduation ceremonies, the hotel was full. Night Clerk assured me a room change for the next next night would be no problem. Returned next day in the afternoon and went to the front desk to obtain new room, and the young clerk snidely remarked “it is fixed and we’re all sold out - no rooms available”. Went to the room, and sure enough, putrid smell was still there. Also checked the Hilton the website and rooms WERE available. Returned to front desk and stated “no, it is not fixed and you do have rooms”! Luckily an adult front desk individual was there and overheard the discussion and it was clear the previous statement was a complete LIE. The supervisor gave us a new room, however,, never apologized or had any empathy for our inconvenience. I’ve been a Hilton Honors member for 20 years, and NEVER have been treated this poorly let alone at any other hotel I’ve stayed at. We understand hotels may have issues but how they deal with them and treat guests is so important and this is what really failed in this instance. Would not recommend staying at this hotel and hopefully Hilton can assist with improvements . The hotel is also a host to “transitional housing”. Both Smithfield and the local universities benefit from this hotel, therefore I hope it can succeed and changes can be made based on this and other recent reviews

Reviewed By BeantownRIf you look this hotel up you get nothing but great reviews, but then when you check in its a very very different experience. What they wont tell you is that this hotel is heavily occupied with un-homed folks. This hotel was a homeless Covid shelter. We stayed on a Saturday night and the lobby was occupied with refugee's who hang out all day sizing everyone that walks in up. This behavior raised red flags immediately. Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff are not in uniform however they are very pleasant and polite. The hallways smell like Burnt Marijuana, Cheap Cologne, and Cigarettes. There are Security camera's mounted everywhere. We tried staying here with our family however I think my kids were as high as a kite by the time we left about an hour into the stay. We had the room windows open and a rolled up towel on the threshold of the doorway to mitigate the marijuana smoke from emanating into our room. The toilet in our bathroom was leaking and after a flush had leaked the entire area behind the toilet on the bathroom floor. The showers were heavily Caulked, the caulk has turned black with mold/dirt. The hotel needs remodeling. Finally after discussion we had enough and decided we needed to move and stay elsewhere. As we were leaving the front desk was friendly and offered us another room on another floor but we have had enough and feared the same results on the third floor and decided this was not our cup of tea. They did offer us a full refund with no hassle and apologized a few times about the conditions. ( I understand its not the staff's fault so we did not take it out on them.) I'm not trying to bash this place because these folks need a place to stay too and I'm sure the hotel management agreed to this on a temporary basis during the covid pandemic and now cannot get these folks out. However, I don't like that its not transparent in reviews and that some guests may be put into a very uncomfortable situation. I wish we took some photos however we were not there long enough.
