There was 7 of us and a dog on a Tuesday night, we didn’t book but found a table in the bar area easily. We didn’t arrive till after 8 and they stopped serving food at 9 so quickly ordered our food, scampi, 2 chicken burgers, gammon and a few steaks, one with salad others with chips. Portion sizes were really good, food was served hot and everyone thought their meals were really nice! One of our party ordered the chicken and chorizo kebab but as it was so late they had run out but it did sound amazing! If I had to pick one thing I’d say the scampi, chips and peas looked a bit…just thrown on the plate but I suppose you can’t really make that look anything else can you?! Staff were all pleasant and friendly and we will definitely be back! I want to try the tikka masala so I’ll be choosing that next time. It was £161 for meals and a few alcoholic drinks each which wasn’t too bad for a party of 7.

We were given one room that had dog hairs on the floor and bits and pieces of stuff on the floor and sofa so I went to reception. At reception the response was, “Well we’re a dog friendly hotel”. I don’t see why that means it is acceptable to have dog hair all over the floor, it should have been hoovered up and the room cleaned properly. I then explained that I have an allergy to dogs and was informed that the dog free rooms were only on the second floor. It turns out that the only room they could give me was on the first floor, so not much help there. We had no choice but to stay and the second room was filthy. There were stains all over the carpet. Even the designed carpet couldn’t cover them up. Not sure if the stains were wee or poo. On the balcony there was either left over yoghurt or poo. In the bathroom the sink had hairs in it from the previous person and something else. Curtains were ripped so didn’t close woke up with the sun hours earlier than we would have wanted. I have stayed in loads of rooms and this has been the worst for the last ten years, easily. If it wasn’t for my friend’s party instead of her wake due to lock down and we weren’t driving the family we would have left. I did ask for a quiet room but neither of the rooms were in quiet locations. Ps. Also look out for them trying to charge you for parking
