Eileen and Michael really did take us at no notice at all we rang there B&B as we had been so let down by an appartment we had rented, They made us feel so very welcome even though it was late in the evening, The B&B is so lovely and homely my children would have stayed and there and their fussy, Eileen makes jam from berries grown in her garden and soda bread to die Thank you to both of them we thoroughly loved it booked for 1 night but stayed 2 just excellent we would definitely come back again

Una was the best, and went to work right away on helping me find my family roots. She was very knowledgeable about the area and allowed us to delay our departure. Her Irish breakfast was beyond ample and incredibly delicious. You certainly won't leave here hungry!

Riverside B&B

Filthy and falsely advertised as dog friendly

Reviewed By clairecL4273CP

We needed an overnight stop over to break up a long journey, before an early ferry the next day. We were travelling with a small child and our dogs. We booked this place knowing it was a little dated and old fashioned but it was advertised as very clean and dog friendly. I can live with dated decor if the place is clean and comfortable and given the pandemic, cleaning should be priority for any establishment. Unfortunately it was neither dog friendly or clean. We arrived after 5 hours in the car to be told by the owner that the dogs would have to sleep outside. We asked why it was advertised as dog friendly and she simply said she was allergic so they could stay, but only outdoors. She then pointed to an outhouse / barn and said they could sleep there but we’re not to come inside the house. The place was filthy - thick of dust, cobwebs and dead flies. Carpets hadn’t seen a Hoover in years and there was a pre stained mat around the toilet. The bedding was full of pubes and appeared to have been slept in and creepy religious pictures on the walls. It was bank holiday weekend so we were unable to find another place to stay at such short notice. We left, and had to book an overnight ferry instead. It was a total waste of time and money. This place is the only BnB with vacancies on a busy bank holiday and there’s a reason for that. The lady is very nice and welcoming, but the place is in need of a proper declutter and deep clean and is also being falsely advertised as dog friendly. I wouldn’t let my dogs stay there for fear of what they might catch.
