Bienvenue Mon Ami was recognized as the 2020 B&B Accommodation of the Year by the Louisiana Travel Association who represents the State Office of Tourism. Lt Gov Billy Nungesser presented Bienvenue Mon Ami Bed and Breakfast the award for the Judged as Best Accommodation in Louisiana on Jan. 30, 2020 in a ceremony attended by approximately 300 attendees. Welcome, my friend to Bienvenue Mon Ami, a newly built 2018 facility where state-of-the-art amenities await. You will be beckoned to return again and again to the bed and breakfast you never imagined could exist. Bienvenue Mon Ami combines luxurious modern features while honoring old Louisiana traditions with its Antebellum Acadian style grandeur and romantic getaway appeal. An elevator lifts you to guest rooms with luxurious private bathrooms, a common kitchen area with full cooking capabilities, a gift shop imbedded in an art galley and a game room with pool/air hockey/foosball/more. A grand entry staircase lures you to Amish built swings, gliders and outdoor dining on the elevated wrap around porch. Large windowed areas abound and overlook the mature oaks and dense forest surrounding the private balcony rooms and dining areas.
Our stay was short as we are Nurses with busy work loads. However, we needed a little getaway. Bienvenue Mon Ami was just what we needed. The accommodations were fantastic, the food was incredible and the welcoming hospitality of Laura and Jeff was amazing. We will be going back. I recommend this peaceful little b&b to anyone.

We stayed here for a local event in Amite. The price seemed a bit high but it is the only decent hotel in town so we did not have much of a choice. I guess the owner counts on that. The pool was closed so our kids were disappointed. Another guest noted the pool was closed the last time he was here. I guess the owner pretends there is a maintenance issue to save costs by keeping the pool closed. WHen we checked in they added a 250 dollar hold for incidentals which I cannot recall every happening at any Holiday Inn at which I have stayed. They also did not recognize me as an IHG member. SHAME ON IHG fo allowing this owner to stay under this brand.

My husband and I booked a room here for two 2 nights to visit the area. We were very disappointed on several counts. First, the owner told us that there was to be a very large group of sorority girls spending the night so we might want to stay out until 10 pm, when they were told they would need to quiet down. We arrived at 10 and were told to go around to the back. Upon driving up to the house, we could see that it was in a state of disrepair. The pictures on the website must be very old. The back porch had all kinds of junk on it, soda bottles, big spray, etc. The young woman who met us was very friendly and got us settled. All the girls were downstairs and unfortunately there was a group directly below our room and we could hear talking, hair dryers, mattresses inflating etc. our room had a comfortable bed and sheets, but there was so much ‘stuff’ everywhere we had to move things to be able to use the chairs and beside tables. I was looking forward to having coffee on what had appeared to be a lovely porch overlooking the front lawn. What a disappointment when going out there the next t morning. It was filthy and there were overflowing ashtrays, empty beer cans etc. all the windows were very dirty, shutters broken etc. Again, there was stuff everywhere, like bug spray, water bottles etc. The young women came back the next morning to cook and serve us breakfast. The majority of the downstairs is set up for wedding receptions and the front lawn for weddings. Breakfast was good and she served us at a sweetheart table. It was then that we realized that we had been alone the prior night with 80 girls. We assumed the owner lived in the house but she was out of town. Thank God nothing happened during the night! Later I was walking along the second floor hallway looking at the memorabilia when one of the doors slowly opened and a man appeared, said hello, and then closed the door. I was freaked out, as I did not know anyone else was there! He must have been the owner of the beat-up car in the yard. On the second night, there were other people staying in the house and we could hear them going out onto the porch to smoke all night and coughing and talking. If we had known it was a smoking room, we would have chosen to stay in another room. Even though this is called a ‘Plantation’ the original house burned down and this one was build around 1900. While it is on several acres, it is in the middle of a neighborhood. The owner never asked about our stay, and we were charged the full amount, even though we had to stay away until 10:00 pm. We never received a bill, just the charge on our card. It was a very disappointing experience and the only thing that kept us there was how nice the young woman was and how hard she worked.
