We spent a wonderful day with our guides Luís and Diogo exploring somewhat remote parts of the Algarve. The guides were very knowlegeable and the driver was very experienced. We saw amazing landscapes, beautiful buildings, traditional towns and we even had the chance to bathe in a small but cozy water source. On top of this all, we ate at an amazing restaurant called "Paradise of Algarve" that totally lives up to its name thanks to its incredibly tasteful food and vegetarian options. We highly recommend this company and this tour in specific if you wish to spend a marvelous day. Rodrigo and Alicia.

Booked tour and tasting thru TripAdvisor. Only a name of a place, the town and zip code were provided as the meeting point. Drove over an hour from my hotel only to drive around the area for 50 minutes trying to fine the tour. GPS led me to a dirt road only to drive in circles around an orange grove. Obvi just entering the town and zip takes you to the center of town. There were no signs and the phone number didn't work. I finally gave up. I'm especially disappointed in TripAdvisor for being so difficult to contact about a problem and refund.

A journey of discovery of the inland Algarve, specifically the area known as "Barrocal", a journey to delight your senses, awaken your curiosity and whet your appetite for more. Our first port of call is to the small town of São Brás de Alportel - quite typical of the Algarve. Here we visit a cork factory. The cork that is harvested in the surrounding area is brought to this factory, prepared, treated and then exported. We visit a local typical cake shop renowned for its traditional produce - carob bread, almond cakes and honey cakes. There is time also to visit the fascinating São Brás Ethnographic Museum. Onward we go to Salir- a bucolic village where you can see the remnants of the ancient castle and its walls. Our final destination is “Quinta do Freixo” – a large estate where biological agriculture is practiced. Here you can learn the secrets of their famous preserves and also sample some of the delicious produce.

Seeing the coastline from the sea is an adventure in itself. The caves are strange but beautiful. The boat and crew are in good shape, and everybody tries is best to help you. I need some help getting in and out the small boat, and that was fine. You have to take the music on the boat as it is, I could have done without it. I could have stayed on the Ophelia all day!
