Right in the heart of the city is a half-block long blaze of beauty - Better Homes and Gardens' testing ground for various landscape designs that the company documents and photographs. The area is one large area made of many mini-backyards, complete with annuals, perennials, bulbs and typical backyard structures like fences and gates.

The King's House in Salisbury, England, was the inspiration for this Tudor mansion.
I was so excited to go back as an adult. I went on a field trip there as a kid and loved it. I do love houses with a history. This one is interesting from the different periods of architecture to the story behind the vision. Once you enter and pay ($10 you can roam where you wish. I think for an hour and 15 min. Don’t miss the informational video playing in what was the kitchen. The the grounds must beautiful in the summer, I went in March. You can also roam outside too. Groups are limited in sizes and there were about 4 or so time slots each day open. I called and reserved my spot.

With more than 450 antique and collectible dealers under one roof, we have something for everyone. You can furnish every room in the house, or simply add to your collection when you shop at the Des Moines, IA Brass Armadillo Antique Mall.
Although it’s a little difficult to get to, it’s quick right off the interstate. Plenty of cases and hundreds of booths to look through. Found a great selection of historic pieces and many hidden treasures. Spent some time in this as we traveled through. Worth stopping into while searching for treasure.

This was beautiful place to visit while in Des Moines Iowa! I was pleasantly shocked to see this Asian inspired garden in Iowa. But it adds such charm to the location. It’s surrounded by a bridge and gorgeous apartments. It’s a must see if you are traveling to Iowa
