Delaware approved the Declaration of Independence in this building, which was constructed in 1732.
We loved the history and how our tour guide -- Bob -- brought it all to life. The court house in itself is fascinating and Bob made it all the better. We left wanting to learn more!

This large area full of history and government buildings with stunning architecture is a must when you are in Dover! We drove in too late for the tour, but stayed over an hour and a half walking the grounds, seeing so many of the historical buildings and houses. Very well maintained and easy parking when we were there. Kid friendly & a great place for them to run around!

On Monday most museums were closed but not legislative Hall. We had a private guided tour explaining the entire two stories building. All year long you can visit the state capitol house even in sessions. Only caucus are closed to the public. The rooms are nice, made of Delaware bricks and the floors of Italian marble. Very fancy. Portraits of the governors and military heroes are nice also.
