Tucumcari Ranch Supply

Each time I pass though Tucumcari, I make it a point of eating here and seeing the latest artifact Jimmy has found in someone's barn or pasture to nail on the wall. Locals try to keep it a secret but if you can find it, you'll be in for a real treat.

Murals of Tucumcari

This is another town on Route 66 with Murals through out the town. Most of the 40 or so scattered about were done a couple over a 10 year period. We couldn't find a map of them so we just drove around the town a bit a sought out as many as we could find. It was fun and enjoyable.

Slide through Tucumcari on Historic 66 and you can’t miss the Tee Pee Curio shop. Look for the tee pee! Gift shop has all the expected: caps, t-shirts, pins, postcards and some unexpected finds: colored polished stones, cowboy hats, stuckey’s candy, and salt and peppers! We stopped on a Monday morning and they were open and doing brisk business! Nice folks, good prices. What’s not to love about this place?!

Route 66 Monument

Reviewed By B1714D - Belgrade, Serbia

This modern and unique chromed Rt 66 sign with authentic car stop lights, is in front of the NM route museum in the west part of town. It's a great photo op when visiting the museum. TIP: I would like to advise fellow travelers, apart from driving the street of Tucumcari in search of the famous murals, do drive the main street through (this monument is at the end of it). It is full of 66's era motels and diners, so picturesque and interesting. Tucumcari was a great find on our southwest journey.
