Titanic has long held a fascination for me. I've read a number of books on the subject, and we were delighted to find Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition here in Orlando! We booked a reservation with great anticipation. The reality not only met, but exceeded, our expectations! The layout guides you in an orderly way through the history of this notable (and infamous) event in nautical history. We opted for the audio tour, which mixed informative narrative with dramatized excerpts of eye-witness accounts. We arrived in time to accompany a guided tour, which added incredible depth and dimension to the experience. Michael, our guide, possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of the subject matter - not just Titanic itself, but the people, their back stories, anecdotal details, and comparison (and more importantly contrast) with the well-known James Cameron movie. Michael greatly contributed to our positive experience. We highly recommend that anyone visiting Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition join a guided tour, in addition to the audio personal tour. Both contribute extensively to the experience! The artifacts themselves are fascinating to examine. The museum also details the process for recovering artifacts - from how long it takes to bring them up from the ocean floor (60 HOURS!) to how they preserve them for display. Final verdict: This exhibit is a MUST SEE in Orlando. Any visitor to our home will find this on the to-do list, along with the amusement parks. We cannot recommend it highly enough. If you are a Titanic history buff, you will increase your knowledge of the subject exponentially. If you are not a Titanic fan, you will be by the time you leave.
